Q#3: What is the history of Dynamic Lawyers? A#3: Dynamic Lawyers was founded by Michael Carabash, a Toronto business lawyer with Carabash Law. Virtually everyone has a wide range of legal issues they need help with - such as writing a will, fighting a traffic ticket, buying or selling real estate, writing a contract for services, reviewing a lease agreement, having documents notarized or commissioned, dealing with a motor vehicle accident, etc. Michael wanted ordinary people in need of common legal services to be able to conveniently and cost-effectively get answers and quotes from local lawyers. At the same time, he also wanted lawyers to be able to market their services directly and effectively to the public. Michael first envisioned the Web site in February 2008.
Q#4: How did Dynamic Lawyers start to become a reality? A#4: With the help of two tech savvy business school friends (Manju Punyani and Aashish Jain) and one longtime marketing friend (Joseph Khlaif), Michael began the paperwork (e.g. business requirements, process flowcharts, wireframes, and business plan) for Dynamic Lawyers at the end of March 2008. While sitting at the dinner table on April 2nd, Michael started scribbling the first documentation for Dynamic Lawyers, which can be viewed here. Much changed over time. After months of hard work, the Web site officially launched on November 1st, 2008 for Torontonians. Dynamic Lawyers has recently expanded to include other major cities in Ontario. Plans are in process to expand Dynamic Lawyers beyond its original geographic, functional, and contextual limits. We've added a FREE Legal Checkup application and LEGAL FORMS + VIDEO GUIDES.
Q#5: How is Dynamic Lawyers operated? A#5: Dynamic Lawyers is owned and operated by Dynamic Lawyers Ltd., a Toronto-based federal corporation. Michael is the President of Dynamic Lawyers Ltd. and Joseph Khlaif is the Vice-President.
Q#6: How does Dynamic Lawyers make money? A#6: Dynamic Lawyers charges fixed membership fees to lawyers to access and respond to posts. If you are a lawyer, you can contact us to find out how to get registered. You can also purchase LEGAL FORMS + VIDEO GUIDES for a fraction of the price a lawyer would charge.
Q#7: Why the name “Dynamic Lawyers”? A#7: The word “Dynamic” was taken from a very influential book that was relied on to develop Carabash Law: Milton W. Zwicker, Developing & Managing a Successful Law Firm, (Toronto, Canada: Thomson Canada Ltd., 1995). Throughout this book, the author discusses the principles that guide dynamic law firms towards success. Some of these principles include being client (not profit) driven, enhancing productivity, and embracing technology. The word “Lawyers” helps inform the public that lawyers and legal services are accessible through the Web site.
